Retired Adults and Rescues
Some answers to common questions about retired adults:

Will my resident cat accept another adult?
With patience, and the right introductions, many cats will learn to get along with another adult.
The key is to match a personality that compliments your current cat's.

Do the male cats spray?
Unneutered males and unspayed females can become territorial.  Spraying is their way of marking areas as theirs.  When we retire a cat, the instinct to mark territory is virtually eliminated once the cat has recovered from the spay or neuter procedure.  We ensure during their recovery that their are no behavioral issues such as spraying
before the cat is placed in a new home.

What is the life span of Cornish Rex?
Cornish Rex can live 15-20 years or more.
By providing good vet care, high quality food, exercise, a meticulously clean litter box,
an indoor only home environment, and lots of loving attention, you are ensuring the relationship you have with your Rex will last a long time.

Will it cost less to adopt an adult?
Most HAUSofMAUS adults are offered for adoption for the donation of the cost of the spay or neuter.

How do I apply for an upcoming adult?
Please help me to get to know you by emailing me information about yourself and your home environment including any other pets you have.
We will not offer a cat that we don't feel would be a good match for your situation.
