are not necessarily available.
Please email or call to inquire about available

This tortie kitten is brand new.
We socialize and handle our kittens
from the very start.
Kittenhood is here and gone...
Adults make wonderful pets!
Consider adopting a rescue or
a retired show adult.
I like to get to know potential families.
To be considered for a spot on my waiting list, please email information
such as:

Why are you interested in a Cornish Rex?
Do you have other pets?
Do you have children?
How long will the cat be alone on an average day?
What are your thoughts on altering (spay/neuter), declawing, and outside
time?
What type of personality and activity level are you anticipating?
Do you have a color or sex preference?
Do you have a reputable vet and references?
Are there any allergy issues in the home?
Remember: I do not ship my cats.  They are NOT cargo.
Contact us at mewtations@yahoo.com for more
information.
Or call 203-879-8978.
Please be patient for a reply,
or try contacting us again
if you don't get a timely response.
We have very hectic schedules, and many obligations,
therefore messages tend to be lower on the priority list
of things to do during the busiest times.
HAUSofMAUS Policies:
Kittens will not be allowed to go to their new homes
until they are between 12-16 weeks of age.

Kittens are not placed on a first come first served basis.
Show quality kittens may not be available as pets.

Kittens and Cats are not cargo, and will not be shipped as such.
Other arrangements can be made.
The pointed pattern is best known in the Siamese breed.
It is actually a variation of albinism,
which is why cats with the pointed pattern always have blue eyes.  Coloring
on the body is limited to the extremities, but as they age, many cats will
develop more coloring on their torsos, too.
Both parents need to carry the pointed gene for it to be passed on to
offspring, although they do not need to be pointed themselves.  All pointed
kittens are born white, with color developing over the next few weeks.
Pointed cats can come in any color that non-pointed cats come in, including
solids, + whites, tabbies, and torties and calicos..
HAUSofMAUS is expecting!

Bringing home 2 Rex doubles the fun!
Rex are very social, and love to play and cuddle
with each other when you can't be there.
Consider bringing home 2 kittens,
or a kitten and a retired adult.
Please ask about these options.

Tortoiseshell and calico occur in females.
Males only carry one color and females can carry two.
(white is not considered a color, genetically. It is the absence of the color)
Van refers to a cat that is mostly white, with coloration isolated to the head, tail
and legs with one or two small body spots allowed.
Bi-color is a cat that has a color, + white
High white refers to a cat that has more body coloration than a van is permitted.
Tabbies:
Mackerel tabby refers to pencil thin stripes
Classic tabby refers to thick bars, in butterfly patterns
Spotted tabby is when the stripes are broken into spots
Patched tabbies are the tabby equivalent of a tortoiseshell or calico,
therefore only occurs in females.
Smoke occurs when the coat closer to the cat's body is a much lighter shade,
usually white or silver, and the coat is tipped in color. Smoked cats can appear to
have a mask, as in the pointed cats.
